Weather Overlays
Flaresat can overlay real-time weather data on top of any map style. Open the Map Layer Selector from the top-right corner of the map to switch layers.
Available layers
| Layer | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Precipitation | Rainfall and snowfall intensity |
| Cloud Cover | Cloud density across the sky |
| Wind | Live wind speed and direction |
| Temperature | Surface air temperature |
| Pressure | Atmospheric pressure and isobars |
Layers are fetched in real time and update as you pan and zoom.
How to enable a weather layer
- Tap the Layers icon in the top-right corner of the map
- Under Weather, tap the layer you want
The selected layer becomes active. Only one weather layer can be active at a time — selecting a new one replaces the previous.
To return to a plain map, select one of the base map options (Standard, Satellite, or Terrain) in the same panel.
Notes
- Weather overlays require an internet connection and are not available in off-grid mode.
- Data is sourced from a third-party weather API and may have a short update delay.
- Weather layers cannot be combined or stacked — only one is shown at a time.
