FLARE PRO
Flaresat's core experience is free forever. FLARE PRO is an optional subscription that removes volume limits and unlocks a few premium extras for organizers and field teams who outgrow the free tier.
Nothing about off-grid Radio mode is limited by FLARE PRO. Pairing a Meshtastic or MeshCore device, mapping, and chatting over the mesh work identically on Free and Pro.
Free forever, no matter what
These are never limited, on Free or Pro:
- Joining groups, and the number of members in a group
- Group chat (text)
- Live location sharing and Live Share background broadcasting
- All off-grid Radio / mesh features (pairing, mapping, chat, Relay Bridge)
- iOS, Android, and Web apps
What FLARE PRO unlocks
| Limit | Free | FLARE PRO |
|---|---|---|
| Groups you own (created by you) | 3 | Unlimited |
| Map items per group (pins, routes, areas) | 100 | Unlimited |
| Alert zones per person, per group | 1 | 50 |
| Photo/voice-note attachments per map item | 1 | Higher (up to the app's per-item technical ceiling) |
| Voice notes sent per day, per group | 10 | Unlimited |
| Photos sent in chat per day, per group | 1 | Unlimited |
| Cloud backups (Online + Radio groups combined) | 1 total | Unlimited |
| Organizations you create | 0 | Unlimited |
| Live weather map layers | Not available | Included |
A few notes on how these are counted:
- Groups and organizations are gated on creation, not participation. You can join and use as many groups or organizations as you like on the Free plan, the limit only applies to ones you create.
- Alert zones are counted per person, per group, a teammate's alert zones never use up yours.
- Map items count everyone's pins, routes, and areas in the group together, including archived items (archiving doesn't free up a slot, only deleting an item does).
- Cloud backups share one pool across Online-group and Radio-group backups. Overwriting your existing backup for a group is always allowed, regardless of plan.
- Items relayed in from a Radio group over Relay Bridge never count against map-item or alert-zone limits.
What happens when you hit a limit
When an action would put you over a Free-plan limit, Flaresat shows an upgrade sheet explaining exactly which limit you hit (for example, "You've reached your Free plan limit of 1 alert zone in this group") with the option to start FLARE PRO. Your existing data is never deleted or hidden, the limit only blocks new creation past the cap, editing or removing something you already have is always allowed.
Weather map layers work a little differently: they're always visible in the map layer picker, but tapping one as a Free user opens the upgrade sheet instead of switching the layer.
Subscribing to FLARE PRO
Tap the profile icon in the top-left corner of the home screen.
Scroll to the Subscription section.
Tap See Plans, or if you already started a purchase, Sync Now.
Pick monthly or annual, then tap Start FLARE PRO.
FLARE PRO is billed monthly or annually through the App Store, Google Play, or, on the web, through Flaresat's web checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
Managing or cancelling
Open your Profile → Subscription → Manage Subscription. This opens the App Store, Google Play, or web billing portal's subscription management page, cancel from there at any time. Your Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period.
Restoring a purchase on a new device
If you've already subscribed and signed in with the same account on a new device or after reinstalling, open the upgrade sheet and tap Restore Purchases.
"Activating" or "Processing"
Right after a purchase, Flaresat may briefly show your subscription as Activating, this means the store confirmed payment but Flaresat's servers haven't finished syncing it yet, which usually takes a few seconds to a minute. Tap Sync Now in your Profile's Subscription section if it doesn't resolve on its own.
