Archiving an item

Archiving is a non-destructive alternative to deletion. Archived items stay on the map at reduced opacity and appear in a separate Archived section in the items list. They can be restored at any time.

Tap the item to open its details panel.

2

To restore it, tap the item again and tap Unarchive.

Only the item's creator or a group Admin can archive, unarchive, or delete an item, other Members can still view and edit it.

note

Archiving is different from deleting. Archived items remain in the group and visible on the map (at reduced opacity). Deleted items are gone permanently.

FLARE PRO

Archiving doesn't free up a map-item slot, archived items still count toward your group's item limit. Only deleting an item does. See FLARE PRO → for limits.

Comments

Every pin, route, and area has its own comment thread, separate from the item's description and from group chat. Useful for a short back-and-forth about a specific location without cluttering the main chat.

1
Open the Item

Tap the item to open its details panel.

2

Scroll down to the Comments section, below Attachments.

3
Add a Comment

Type in the comment box and send. Comments are plain text, up to 1,000 characters.

4
Load Older Comments

Tap Load More to page in older comments, 5 at a time.

Any Member can post a comment; Viewers can read but not post. You can delete your own comments at any time; a group Admin can delete anyone's comment. Long-press a comment to copy its text. There's no limit on how many comments an item can have, and comments aren't gated by FLARE PRO.

Any Member or Admin can edit an item's details or attachments, regardless of who created it, the map is a shared space for day-to-day editing. Archiving and deleting are restricted to the item's creator or a group Admin, so one member can't remove another's work.

Radio groups

Radio groups do not enforce roles. All users can create, edit, and delete items regardless of any role assignment.

Drawing toolbar actions

While drawing a route or area you have two extra tools:

  • Undo, removes the last placed point
  • Use Current Location, adds a point at your current GPS position (useful for placing a point exactly where you're standing)

Browsing all items

If a pin is off-screen or hard to find, use the LIST button in the command bar:

1
Open the List

Tap LIST in the command bar at the bottom of the map.

2
Review the Sections

The list shows all items across three sections: Active Users, Trackers (Radio groups only, mesh nodes in range), and Map Data (pins, routes, areas).

3
Filter by Type

Use the filter chips at the top to narrow by type: All / Users / Pins / Routes / Areas / Trackers / Archived.

4
Search by Name

Use the search bar to filter by name or label.

5
Jump to an Item

Tap any item to jump the map to that location and open its details.

Active items appear first. Archived items are shown at the bottom of the list in a separate Archived section, or you can filter to Archived to see only those.
