Profile & Account

Your profile is where you manage your personal account settings. Tap the profile icon in the top-left corner of the home screen to open it.

Your profile information

Your profile shows:

  • Name, your display name shown to group members
  • Email, the address on your account
  • Avatar, pulled from your Google or Apple account if you signed in that way
  • Stats, total groups you're in, groups where you're admin, organizations, and member since date

Changing your name or avatar

Profile details are managed through your authentication provider:

  • Email sign-in users: Tap Account Settings in your profile to manage your account externally
  • Google users: Your name and avatar sync from your Google account
  • Apple users: Your name syncs from your Apple ID

Re-running the walkthrough

Tap the Walkthrough button in your profile to replay the onboarding slides at any time. Useful if you want to revisit how a feature works.

Help & support

From your profile:

  • Help Center, opens the online documentation
  • Contact Support, opens an email to the Flaresat support team

Location update frequency

Control how often your location is sent to the group. Find this in your Profile under Location Update Frequency.

TierUpdate rateAccuracyBest for
Real-timeEvery 5 s / 5 mHigh GPSFast-moving ops, tight coordination
Balanced (default)Every 10 s / 15 mGPS + Wi-FiGeneral field use
Power SaverEvery 30 s / 50 mWi-Fi + CellLong shifts, extended deployments
Ultra SaverEvery 3 min / 150 mCell onlyMulti-day trips, minimal battery use

This setting is synced to your account, so it carries over when you sign in on another device.

Cross-device settings sync

If you're signed in on more than one device, Flaresat automatically syncs your preferences between them. Synced settings include:

  • Map layer selection
  • Compass and bearing mode
  • Location update frequency
  • Last map center

Changes on one device reflect on others within a few seconds. Guest accounts and offline sessions read from the last synced values.

Map tile cache

Flaresat caches map tiles on your device so previously viewed areas load faster without re-downloading.

1
Open your Profile

Open your Profile.

2
Find the setting

Find the Map Tile Cache setting.

3
Choose a size

Choose a cache size: 100 MB, 250 MB, 500 MB (default), 1 GB, or 5 GB.

Larger cache sizes mean more map data is stored locally, useful for field use in areas you've already visited. Reducing the size clears older tiles automatically.
