Inviting Members

Every group has a unique invite code that lets people join. Only group admins can view and manage the invite code.

Find your group's invite code​

  1. Open the group's map
  2. Tap the Settings (gear) icon
  3. The invite code is displayed near the top — e.g., FLS-A1B2C3D4

Share the invite code​

Copy the code and send it however you like — text, email, WhatsApp, radio, word of mouth. Anyone with the code can join the group.

Your teammate joins by:

  1. Opening Flaresat
  2. Tapping + → Join a group
  3. Entering the code
  4. Tapping Join

In Group Settings, tap Copy invite link to get a URL that opens Flaresat directly to the join prompt. Tap the link on a device with Flaresat installed and it handles everything automatically.

Regenerate the invite code​

If your invite code was shared somewhere it shouldn't have been, regenerate it:

  1. Go to Group Settings
  2. Tap Regenerate invite code
  3. Confirm

The old code stops working immediately. Share the new one with your team.

Disable the invite code​

If you want to lock the group down so no one new can join:

  1. Go to Group Settings
  2. Toggle Disable invite code

While disabled, no one can join — even with the code. Existing members are unaffected.

Re-enable it whenever you're ready to accept new members again.

Default role for new members​

Anyone who joins via invite code gets the Member role by default. An admin can change their role after they've joined. See Roles & Permissions →
