Managing Members

Group admins can view the full member list, change member roles, and remove members.

View the member list​

  1. Open the group's map
  2. Tap Menu (☰) in the command bar, then tap Settings
  3. Scroll to the Members section

You'll see every member's name, avatar, and current role.

Change a member's role​

  1. In the Members list, find the member
  2. Tap Role
  3. Select the new role: Viewer, Member, or Admin

The change takes effect immediately. See Roles & Permissions for what each role can do.

You cannot change your own role, and you cannot demote the last admin in a group.

Remove a member​

  1. In the Members list, find the member
  2. Tap Remove
  3. Confirm

The member is removed immediately. Their map items and messages remain (historical context is preserved), but they can no longer see the group or any new activity. If they want to rejoin, they'll need a valid invite code.

Admins cannot remove other admins.

Leaving a group​

To leave a group yourself:

  1. Open Group Settings (tap Menu → Settings)
  2. Scroll to Danger Zone
  3. Tap Leave Group
  4. Confirm

If you're the only admin: you must promote another member to Admin before you can leave.

After leaving, the group disappears from your home screen. Your past map items and messages remain visible to remaining members.

Deleting a group​

Admins can permanently delete a group from the Danger Zone:

  1. Open Group Settings (tap Menu → Settings)
  2. Scroll to Danger Zone
  3. Tap Delete Group
  4. Confirm

Deleting a group removes it for all members and cannot be undone. All pins, routes, areas, and messages are permanently deleted.

Clearing map items or chat​

Admins can wipe map items or chat history without deleting the group:

  1. Open Group Settings → scroll to Danger Zone
  2. Tap Clear Map to delete all pins, routes, and areas, or Clear Chat to delete all messages
  3. Confirm

This affects all members immediately. It cannot be undone.

Radio groups

Radio groups also have Leave & Delete Group, Clear Map, and Clear Chat in their settings. These work the same way but only affect the local group data, the group is removed from your device and all stored items are erased.
