Cloud Backup & Export
Radio group data lives on your device. If you get a new phone or uninstall the app, that data is gone by default.
You have two options to preserve it:
- Cloud backup, save a snapshot to your Flaresat account (requires internet)
- File export, export a
.flaresatfile you can keep anywhere
Cloud backup and restore require a Flaresat account and an internet connection at the time of the operation. The mesh itself still works offline.
Cloud backup
Back up
- Open the Radio group's map
- Tap Menu (☰) in the command bar, then tap Settings
- Scroll to Cloud Backup
- Tap Backup to Cloud
- Confirm
Flaresat exports the full group state and uploads it to your account. The backup is timestamped.
Restore
Restore is done from within an existing Radio group, it overwrites the group's current data with the backup:
- Open (or create) the Radio group you want to restore into
- Tap Settings → scroll to Cloud Backup
- Tap Restore from Cloud
- A list of your saved backups appears, each showing the group name and date
- Tap a backup, then tap Restore
- Confirm, this will replace all current data in the group with the backup
Manage backups
Under Cloud Backup in Group Settings you can:
- See all saved backups for this group with names and dates
- Restore any backup
- Delete individual backups you no longer need
File export / import (.flaresat)
For a self-contained backup you can store anywhere (email, files app, cloud drive):
Export:
- Open Group Settings
- Tap Export Group
- Choose where to save or share the
.flaresatfile
Import:
- Open Group Settings
- Tap Import Group (or open the
.flaresatfile from your files app) - Confirm, the import shows a preview of item counts before applying
