Delete Account

You can permanently delete your Flaresat account at any time.


What gets deleted

When you delete your account:

  • Your user profile is removed from Flaresat
  • Your device's push notification tokens are cleared
  • You are removed from all groups you were a member of

What is NOT deleted:

  • Map items (pins, routes, areas) you created — these remain on the shared map with your name replaced by "Deleted User"
  • Chat messages you sent — these remain in the group chat history with your name replaced by "Deleted User"

This is intentional: deleting historical map data or messages would corrupt the shared history that other team members depend on.


How to delete your account

  1. Open your Profile
  2. Scroll to the bottom
  3. Tap Delete my account
  4. Read the confirmation warning
  5. Tap Delete to confirm

Your account is deleted immediately. You'll be signed out and returned to the sign-in screen.


Can I recover a deleted account?

No. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you sign up again with the same email, it will be a brand-new account with no history.


What if I'm the only admin in a group?

Before you can delete your account, you must either:

  • Promote another member to Admin in each group where you're the sole admin, or
  • Leave those groups (which requires the same step above)

Flaresat will remind you if there are groups blocking deletion.
