Filtering Map Items
Flaresat has two separate filters for pins, routes, and areas, one for the map itself and one for the Items List. Both use the same Type / Colour / Icon picker, but they don't share selections, and they don't behave the same way once you close them.
Filtering the map
Tap ⋯ in the map header, then FILTER.
Under Type, tap Pins, Routes, or Areas. Tap more than one to combine them, or leave all of them off to allow every type.
Under Colour, tap any swatch to filter to it. Only colours actually used by an item on the map right now are shown.
Under Icon, tap any icon to filter to it. Only icons actually used by an item on the map right now are shown.
Tap Apply. To start over, tap Clear first, it empties every selection.
Selections within one section combine with OR, Pins + Routes shows both. The three sections combine with AND, Pins + a colour shows only pins in that colour. A section left empty doesn't restrict anything.
If the group has no pins, routes, or areas at all, the sheet tells you there's nothing to filter instead of showing the picker.
Filters stay applied
Unlike most sheets in Flaresat, closing the filter sheet doesn't clear it. Whatever you applied keeps hiding non-matching items on the map, and the FILTER button itself changes colour to show a filter is active, until you open the sheet again and clear it.
Switching to a different group clears the filter automatically. A filter is scoped to the group it was set in, so it can never carry over and quietly hide items on a group you didn't mean to filter.
On a Radio group's map, the same ⋯ menu also has a RADIO tile for device settings, alongside LAYERS, FILTER, and HIDE. See Radio Settings →.
Filtering the Items List
The Items List has its own filter icon next to its quick type chips, opening the same Type / Colour / Icon picker. It works the same way, but it's temporary: close the list and the filter is gone, reopen it and every section starts empty again.
It also stacks with the list's own All / Users / Pins / Routes / Areas / Trackers / Archived chips and its search bar, all of them narrow the same list together. Users and Trackers aren't affected by the Type / Colour / Icon picker, that only applies to pins, routes, and areas.
Colours and icons
The colours and icons on offer come from the same 20-colour, 20-icon set used when creating a pin. See Pin icons and colors → for the full list.
